Martin Kingham and Associates Ltd is an independent materials and corrosion consultancy, designed to alleviate materials / corrosion problems in industry.

The business has been established to provide:
  • A materials selection service.

  • Assistance in the alleviation of corrosion problems.

  • An inspection service to identify the extent of materials corrosion on plant and in industry with recomendations designed to alleviate corrosion problems.

  • Coatings to protect materials against corrosion.

  • An introduction to companies skilled in the application of specific coatings, designed to afford protection against corrosion.

  • Advice on the protection of materials against abrasive, erosive and adhesive wear including synergistic wear and corrosion.

  • The validation and application of hard coatings including HVOF (High Velocity Oxy Fuel) coatings designed to improve wear performance.

The Story So Far...

Martin Kingham has over 40 years experience in materials selection and troubleshooting engineering / corrosion problems in industry. Initially employed in the steel industry then moving on to aerospace technologies (Hawker Siddeley).

During a 32 year career working for UKAEA and following privatisation AEA Technology plc some of the diverse activities carried out by Martin Kingham have included:
  • Commissioning and corrosion monitoring of deslination plants.

  • Inspection and corrosion protection of aluminium bodied railway vehicles.

  • Consultancy for various Formula 1 car racing teams.

  • Consultancy on wide ranging problems in the Oil and Gas industry including advice on HVOF coatings.

  • Qualatative and quantative inspection services an corrosion protection of various facilities on waste water treatment plants.

  • Consultancy on wear control and corrosion protection of facilities used for renwable energy generation for both wind and sea.

  • Consultancy on the refurbishment and the formulation of a corrosion protection system for the large reflector at Jodrell Bank radio telescope (pictured above).

  • Selection of materials and coatings for renewable energy projects.

  • The organising and managing of independent standard materials / coatings testing on behalf of clients.
